Engineered Timber

Modernwood engineered hardwood flooring has undergone tremendous improvement in design and quality over the years. With expertise in manufacturing all our timber are produced in multiple-layers structural plywood with natural solid wood on top. Engineered flooring is increasingly demanded by designers in both residential and commercial spaces due to ease of installation, durability, versatile design ranges, aesthetic appearance and cost-effectiveness resulting from long durability. Engineered Hardwood is proven to be more resistant to variations of moisture and temperature than solid wood floors because of the stable core of high-quality plywood layers which also helps to avoid timber movement.

Our engineered timber floor is made up of 2-6mm timber veneers that are glued on top of multi-layers plywood. The micro-bevel edges provide extra stability and strength. The total thickness is usually between 12-20mm with width from 127-300mm and up to 3000mm in length. The top layer is the “face” or “finishing” layer made from real timber. Our timber can be either install as floating floor with underlay or direct stick to subfloor with moisture barrier and glue, without the need of sanding and coating therefore making it more versatile compare to solid timber which required technical expertise installation.
